Chord Finder Have you ever spent time searching for a particular chord?  Or forgotten the notes to a scale you don't use very often?  Well, I found this great tool the other day that solves those problems.  No more leafing through your chord book or stumbling through an unfamiliar scale.  The product is from a gentleman named Duane Shinn and it's called the Instant Chord Finder.  This tool is a perfect example of what computer's are good for in the music world.   The Instant Chord Finder has a very pleasing display that consists of a few major panels - I'll tell you where to go to see it in a minute.  The "key" panel lets you select the key you're interested in.  The program then displays, by default, the major chord of the key you just selected in its root position. The chord panel lets you select chords.  By default, you see the selected chord in the root position.  To display that chord in its inverted position, just click on the chord name in the inversion panel. You can also select a clef.  The clef selection button switches the displayed chord between the treble and bass clefs when you click it. To display the notes of a major or minor scale, just click on the Scale button and select the scale you want to see from the drop-down box.  The Chord Finder is so easy to use you really don't need any instructions (although Duane sends some along just in case).  I have the CD version (more on that in a second) and I just popped it into my CD drive and started using it.  It really is that simple.  The display is very easy to interpret.   You can get your hands on this great tool in two ways - order it on CD, or download it immediately from Clickbank.  Take a look at Duane's Instant Chord Finder.  You'll love it.
